DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

According to research, 1 in 4 adult women and 1 in 7 adult men in the United States have experienced partner violence.

One motive of domestic violence is to gain control over one’s partner. Domestic violence has different levels of severity. There are also differences in how often it can occur.

Signs of domestic abuse:

-depression

-anger issues

-substance abuse

-low self-esteem

-unemployment

Repeated physical harm can cause many health issues. The stress of being abused may also have physical effects.

For Survivors:

No one deserves to be abused. The abuse is not your fault. You are not alone.

At Star Point Counseling Center, therapists may help abuse survivors learn to manage the effects of abuse. As well as heal from the damage.
