Aging is a natural process that may present challenges for some individuals and their families.
Moving from middle age to later years should be exciting, however it can be difficult for some when adjusting.
How would aging affect someone’s perspective? -It may also be difficult for some older adults to face mortality, especially when friends, peers, or spouses pass on. -some may find it difficult to adjust, which can potentially lead to isolation. -attending to own personal needs may become limited.
These emotions are very common and research has shown that older adults that are healthy, experience decline in:
-visual and verbal memory -immediate memory, or the ability to name objects -hearing and vision -bodily strength -appetite and energy level
Older adults who experience some limitations on their activity and abilities due to aging are often able to adapt to these changes and continue their lives in the manner they wish.
