Star Point Counseling Center has been helping individuals and couples and since 2011 with stress, depression, anxiety, couples counseling, low self esteem, trauma and other issues we have in our lives. We offer in person, phone and online sessions.
Our Therapist feel the way to have a positive mental health attitude is to achieve and maintain a healthy body, mind, and spirit, through self care, positive thinking, patience, and a "We've got this" attitude. We are here to help you identify, and then, eliminate, reduce, and manage any obstacles to that end. Tell yourself to breathe, to be Calm, Confidant, Content and Courageous. Know you'll find your way through. We are here for you. We call this the 4 C's.

We provide counseling services to individuals, couples, families, children, teens, and adults with any type of crises. We help you build tools as well as help design and implement individualized goals and objectives, help you sort out beliefs, thoughts, and behavior patterns that may be hindering you in your relationship(s) whether at the work place or in other areas of your life.
We show you how to apply tools, skills, and strategies that are therapeutically designed to guide you toward a more fulfilling life experience. We have the tools you need for managing pain, anxiety, disappointment, frustration, hopelessness or anger resulting from circumstances that interfere in your achieving a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle. By working together, we will show you how to set and achieve goals and objectives, therapeutically designed to meet your needs that will allow you to live the life you know that you deserve. With Star Point Counseling Center's experienced Therapists providing therapy for children, teens, individuals, couples and families, we have helped countless numbers of people with marriage counseling, family counseling, relationship counseling, depression, stress, low self esteem, anxiety, trauma, childhood trauma, separation and divorce, grief and loss, parenting skills, PTSD, repeated negative behavior.
The Therapists at Star Point Counseling Center are focused on providing highly effective counseling techniques in the Brandon, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Hyde Park, South Tampa, New Tampa, Carrollwood, Town & Country, Riverview, Plant City, Ruskin, and Apollo Beach areas in a relaxed atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.
HOW TO PAY:
We require a non refundable $50 deposit by Visa or Master Card to set an appointment. We only run the card if you cancel, re schedule or do not show up. We have a sliding scale from $60 -$120 depending on annual household income. Proof of income required for sliding scale. We can usually
set your appointment to see a therapist within a few days.
We have a sliding scale from $60 -$120 depending on annual household income. Proof of income required for sliding scale. We can see you the day you call or whenever possible. We have evening appointments available. Weekends by appointment.
Our normal fee for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) is $120 per session. However, with our sliding scale rates, it is $90-$120 per session - depending on your household income.
Our normal fee for a Registered Intern Mental Health Counselor is $75. We have a sliding scale from $60 -$75 depending on annual household income. Proof of income is required for sliding scale.
Registered Intern therapists work under the direct supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Counselor Supervisor and all cases are reviewed by them.
All Registered Interns have Masters Degree and have to complete a 1 year internship to get their Masters Degree and have to complete a 2 year Registered Internship and pass a State Board Exam to become Licensed.
It is $40-$55 to see a Student Mental Health Counselor Intern on a sliding scale. Proof of income is required for sliding scale (pay stub or another form of income).
$0 TO $25,000 IS $60 PER SESSION (REGISTERED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR INTERN)
$25,000 and above IS $75 PER SESSION (REGISTERED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR INTERN)
UP TO $55,000 IS $90 PER SESSION ( LMHC, LCSW or LMFT)
OVER $75,000 IS $120 PER SESSION (LMHC, LCSW or LMFT)
INSURANCES ACCEPTED:
We accept self pay and Major Insurances such as United Behavioral Healthcare, United Health Care, Aetna, Out of Network Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and others. Some people prefer to self pay as it gives them a higher degree of confidentiality; once insurance is billed the insurance company has the legal right to review your file and case notes, this is a lesser degree of privacy and it could effect people applying for jobs in certain industries and the military.
